Typing Quest is a free, offline-first Progressive Web App (PWA) designed to help you improve your English typing skills through practice and gamification.

Our app combines traditional typing practice with an engaging monster battle system, making learning fun and motivating. Track your progress, unlock achievements, and collect monsters as you improve your typing speed and accuracy.

📖How to Use

📝Practice Mode

  1. Click "Practice Mode" from the home screen
  2. Select your difficulty level (1-5, with 5 being the hardest)
  3. Choose sentence length: Short (S), Medium (M), or Long (L)
  4. Enable or disable the time limit (default: 60 seconds)
  5. Click "Start Practice" to begin
  6. Type the displayed sentence as accurately and quickly as possible
  7. Complete 10 questions to see your overall performance summary
  8. View your CPM (Characters Per Minute) and accuracy scores

⚔ī¸Monster Battle Mode

  1. Click "Monster Battle" from the home screen
  2. Select an unlocked stage (Stage 1 is available from the start)
  3. Battle monsters by typing sentences accurately and quickly
  4. Your typing speed and accuracy determine damage dealt to the monster
  5. Complete multiple rounds to defeat the monster and clear the stage
  6. Complete 10 rounds to see your battle performance summary
  7. Earn XP, coins, and unlock new monsters for your collection
  8. Level up to increase your stats and tackle harder stages

👤Managing Profiles

  • Click on your profile name in the header to access profile options
  • Select "Switch Profile" to change to a different profile or create a new one
  • Each profile has separate progress, statistics, and monster collections
  • Guest mode is available for temporary use without saving progress

  • Focus on accuracy first, then work on speed
  • Practice regularly for consistent improvement
  • Use the Quick Start button for fast Level 1 practice
  • Challenge yourself by gradually increasing difficulty levels
  • Check your Progress page to track improvements over time

Typing Quest is designed with privacy in mind. We do NOT collect, store, or transmit any personal information to external servers. All data is stored locally on your device using IndexedDB.

Local Storage

The following data is stored locally on your device:

  • Profile information (name and type)
  • Typing practice and battle results
  • Application settings and preferences
  • Achievement progress and unlocked monsters
  • Teacher/classroom settings (if applicable)

Cookies and Tracking

We use session storage to maintain your current profile selection during your browsing session. We do not use cookies for tracking or analytics purposes.
